It’s that time of year where love is in the air. This Valentine’s Day, I thought there would be no better time to show some love and speak about why we, at Initi8, love tech and working in the sector.

1. It is constantly evolving (and always getting better)

We are consistently seeing better versions of today’s technology. Improving the tech that we already have, allows us to be more efficient in our day to day lives. It continues to grow and change our world for the better. We use tech every single day, from using our phones to connect to family and friends to tapping in on public transport to navigating on google maps.

2. The tech world is diverse

Technology’s audience is society. Our world is made up of people of different genders, ethnic backgrounds, age etc so, the teams in tech need to mirror this in order to have different perspectives and ensure they are targeting their audience of… well, everyone. As a result, we love seeing the commitment of the tech sector to gathering the most diverse teams.

3. It’s creative

As technology is constantly changing, there is always the opportunity to be creative and express new ideas. Tech has to depend on creativity in order to find new solutions to problems and better our experiences. For example, sport has always been popular and created a community of fans all over the world. Today, technology has allowed us to watch our favourite teams from the comfort of our own home and interact with fans in real time (particularly important during Covid times!)

4. It makes thoughts become a reality

Tech allows a single thought or idea to actually become a reality. For example, the gaming industry has hugely advanced over time. From the first board game being created over 7,000 years ago, now in recent times we see online gaming and virtual reality becoming increasingly more popular with more advanced visuals, graphics and camera technology. We can transport to a whole new world without having to leave our homes; this is especially true when we think about the advancements of VR too.

5. It makes a real difference to individuals and groups as a whole

Our whole lives revolve around tech, we are able to communicate with loved ones wherever they are in the world, allowed us to shop from the comfort of our sofa and improved our daily way of working. But on a larger scale tech has also allowed us to tackle and improve environment issues and healthcare.

6. Tech Career Development is highly lucrative

In the Tech industry, you are always improving your skills and because of this there are always opportunities to be promoted within the industry and work your way up.

7. Being in the tech sector is personally rewarding

Its extremely rewarding to become apart of a process, knowing you have had a input on something that started as an small idea and has become a big impact on so many people.

8. Tech is being used to create a new world for the next generation

Its crazy to look back even 20 years and see how much tech has evolved. The possibilities are endless and its exciting to think about how the future will look.
