IT Information Security Officer

The Job
Working as an IT Security Officer, you will work closely with the IT Security Manager to develop and deliver essential Information Security initiatives. You will analyse and manage security threats whilst supporting the IT Security Manager in establishing organisation wide information security policies, procedures and standards.
Other key responsibilities will include carrying out vulnerability assessments of the current IT infrastructure landscape and produce a suitable plan to remediate any weaknesses. You will need to ensure you keep up to date with data protection legislation, so you are able to provide guidance to senior stakeholders relating to relevant security controls required that meet regulatory standards. Therefore, a genuine interest in Information Security is a must.

The person
As an IT Security Officer, you will be able to demonstrate relevant experience delivering IT Information Security within a mid to large size organisation. Any experience such as setting up a Security Operations Centre (SOC), implementing an IT Information Security Management System or Framework , computer forensics, incident investigation or network security is all experience that is relevant for this post and highly desirable.
You must be able to demonstrate a keen interest in cyber security, as well as a positive and proactive nature when it comes to approaching tasks at hand. You will be an excellent communicator as you will be liaising with a wide range of stakeholders at different levels and will act as an advocate to solidify the adoption of Information Security / information Governance principles.

The salary
£45,000 - £55,000 plus great benefits including a University Final Pension (worth £££), 25 days holiday which can increase with years of service up to 30 days, Season Ticket Loan, Life Insurance and a flexible work / life balane working just 35 hours per week.
