Staff NodeJS Engineer (team lead)

The Job

Working as a Nodejs Staff engineer your job will be working with the product lead and the CTO to take a technical vision and create a working technical solution using; node.js, AWS, PostgreSQL, Docker, and more.

You will also lead / manage a team of 1/2 software engineers.

In this job you will be building new products and features whilst maintaining the current code base, so you should be used to working in greenfield solutions and being the lead technical person in a project / team.

You will contribute to the architecture and design of the cloud engineer ensuring scalability as this grows.

About You

With proven experience as a backend Node.js Engineer. You will bring your experience with building scalable systems. You should be comfortable with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and be happy taking on architectural decisions. Working closely with the Head of Engineering you should be comfortable taking on senior responsibilities and working with autonomy.

The perfect candidate will have the following (not all are essential):

• Web Application with Node.js
• Experience building highly available systems
• Containerisation and IaaC: Docker, Terraform
• Databases: PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB & NoSQL Databases
• At least one major cloud platform (AWS Preferred)

This ethical SaaS business is part of a group of businesses mainly focused in the retail sector, who have managed to combine technology and ethical sourcing to become a household name in just a few short years.

The SaaS team is packed with talent and comprises of 25 people. Your job will interact with most of them.

Their product is unique and is making great waves in an industry that needs to evolve quickly, it allows purchasers to integrate where their product was made, and it ensures the authenticity of their products. It also helps businesses that sell products, giving them valuable data and direct feedback from their customers.

In a few short years, the business are working with all of the big game manufacturers, most of the Hollywood studios, and is only held by the number of meetings they are able to book in their diaries.

They are super friendly, really well backed by a private investor, have a great coffee machine, super office, and (seemingly) all the chocolate you can eat.

Location

London - Hybrid - Office near Tottenham Court Road / Soho 1- 2 days per week (Flexible)

Salary

Starting salary of £80,000 - £95,000 plus options and benefits
